I pride myself as being a people person.  I’ve always worked in occupations that deal with everyday people.  In high school and college I worked in restaurants and my first occupation was a college professor.  When I left the University I started a jewelry business which involved a lot of people interactions.  So, when I found my calling in art, it naturally led to portraiture.  In the jewelry business I evolved into carving gems which then led to carving reverse intaglio portraits in clear crystal quartz.

As The Diamond Shop has evolved, I became fascinated with the freedom of working with clay. All of my art in the past has been two dimensional, but clay portraiture is three dimensional…. A different representation of a personality is presented with three dimensions…..
